Brian has been bouncing around from one startup to another since he co-founded his first company, a job posting site called Jobby, in 2005 (acquired by Jobster). Fioca has now worked with over 12 startups, from iPhone-optimized website builder Zapd (acquired by RealSelf in 2013), to time management app RescueTime, which went through Y Combinator in 2008 (where later Brian went back to become a Startup School mentor). Brian was also a founding member of Madrona Venture Labs, the incubation arm of Madrona Venture Group. Fioca incubated 3 companies this way at Madrona, including MightyAI (acquired by Uber), MessageYes (acquired by Nordstrom), and Chatative (acquired by Mailchimp).

At PSL Brian is focused primarily on engineering the creation of new AI products. He’s also a pretty good photographer and an OK trumpet player.
